When taking images for my film poster, I needed to decide which photos I would choose to use. I will justify my selections for the images used on my film poster. I took a range of different photos, however, the ones that turned out the best have been included and I will need to reduce these images down to a maximum of two images as I don't want my film poster to become to overcrowded and potentially break the conventions of a film poster. However, the images I decide not to use on my film poster could be used on my magazine front cover.
Antagonist Photos
I wanted to try and take either a mid-shot, or a long shot image of the antagonist to use on the poster, however, these photos won't be used in either the film poster or the magazine cover, this is because while I like the idea for the images where the antagonist is aiming the gun at the camera, the execution of the photos isn't of a great quality as the gun is blurry and of a low quality. Also, I feel I could incorporate different images onto the film poster and the magazine cover that will fit and look better, as well as give the audience more of an insight into what our film is about.
Antagonist Vs Protagonist
These are the images that I will use on my film poster. I think having mid-shots/close-ups of the antagonist and the protagonist facing each other will give the audience a good insight into what the film could be about. Also, I think using these images will conform to the conventions of a thriller film poster as the clothing is quite dark and the facial expressions can show/connote the feelings of the film characters. However, there is a lack of props, specifically guns, that could be used to give a sense of the genre of the film. Therefore, when selecting images for my magazine cover, I will try and choose ones that include these props. Finally, since the protagonist and the antagonist are the main actors in the film, are played by well-known actors and are part of the unique selling point of the film, it would make sense to have them as the main attraction of the film poster.
